'The Legend of Zelda' Re Imagined as a Studio Ghibli Movie

'The Legend of Zelda' Re Imagined as a Studio Ghibli Movie

Talented Artist Matt Vince Combines Two Worlds

By Alex Burns

We love Studio Ghibli's and we love The Legend of Zelda so this piece of news bring joyful tears to Cape and Cowl's eyes. The two fantastical worlds collide in these beautiful creations by artist Matt Vince who brings the shared fantastical motifs of the two franchises together and connects the sensibilities of Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. Those two are Walt Disney-esque in Japan and while their fields may differ, the gap between animation and videogames is something that's not all to far apart and often connected more than you'd realise in terms of a shared fan base.

The three posters focus on each holder of the powerful triforce - Link, Zelda and Ganondorf and capture the open-world feel of the game as well as the distinctive Ghibli style distinctive love of nature and beautifully rendered vistas. The pieces are fantastic and it really makes you wish this was actually happening for real, who knows maybe one day...
