New 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Pictures Revealed - Plus Bryan Singer Addresses Costume Controversy

New 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Pictures Revealed

Plus Bryan Singer Addresses Costume Controversy

By Alex Burns

Happy Friday guys! Celebrate the beginning of your weekend with these awesome new snaps from the upcoming superhero movie 'X-Men: Apocalypse'! The follow-up to last years hit movie 'Days of Future Past' the movie promises to bring the new trilogy of X-Men films to a satisfying climax and features an all new enemy in the form of Oscar Isaac's titular villain 'Apocalypse'. There's also newly cast actors in familiar roles as we head to the 80's to see young versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Jubilee and more! Take a look through the newly released images for a closer look at the vast array of X-Men characters on show.

It's not just the pictures though, a lot of negative reaction made the rounds online and by office water coolers when we got out first look at the Apocalypse costume. Some pretty unforgiving comparisons to the Power Ranger villain Ivan Ooze and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr Freeze were but a few of the jabs directed at the outfit. The reaction was overshadowing the film itself and now Director Bryan Singer himself has come out with a reply to those comments.
"He'll be very similar to images in the comic. There's obviously something very futuristic and yet ancient to the design of both his costume and his physicality." Singer explained.
Well he certainly looks like he belongs in the 80's! I'm sure this getup will look a lot better in motion on the big screen, I get the feeling they'll use some movie magic trickery to have Apocalypse appear much larger than the rest of the characters. What do you make of the new images and Apocalypse look? Sound off in the comments! 'X-Men: Apocalypse' is set for release 2016.

The DC Universe On Film is Finally Here! 'Batman v Superman' is just the start...

The DC Universe on film is Finally Here!

'Batman v Superman' is just the start...

By Alex Burns

After the reveal of the new 'Batman v Superman' and 'Suicide Squad' trailers at Comic-Con the DC Universe on film finally felt real. We'd heard the announcement of dozens of DC movies before of course, but there's nothing like seeing it all there on the screen in Live-Action. Marvel have been light years ahead of DC in establishing a comic book universe in the realms of cinema, so it's great to see finally see Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all together in a similar vein. 'Batman v Superman' will be the first real start of this universe after 'Man of Steel' and the sheer number of comic book characters set to appear in the film and 'Suicide Squad' is seriously impressive.

It's not just those two movies either DC and Warner Bros. have plans to bring the rest of the Justice League onto the big screen in the coming years, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and more are set for solo movies and key roles in the Justice League movies . Warner Bros are ready to lay the foundations for a wider DC Universe and director Zack Snyder has got the whole thing mapped out! Check his comments in a recent interview with Empire.
“What we are doing is ground up all the way. It is one giant story. The first thing we had was the Justice League concept. The other movies, in a way, have to support that. That is our Wonder Woman, our Aquaman. They have their own creative concepts that supports them, but they do serve Justice League in the coming together of those heroes.”
“I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe. I have given everyone amazing access to our story, to me, and what we are doing. All the films have like minded conceptual jumping on points.”
Producer Charles Roven is no stranger to DC movies after his work on 'The Dark Knight' trilogy and also elaborated on  how Warner Bros. and DC will look to connect these unique individual films into a stable interconnected universe.
“We call it the sandbox. It has borders around it, but everybody gets to play in the sandbox. On Suicide Squad, David Ayer has a lot of specific control over his area of the sandbox. Even if he crosses the line a little bit, we see if we can push our boundaries back a little bit,”
There's plenty of awesome reveals from the Empire magazine feature as well, notably that Zack Snyder has the entire DC Universe on film mapped out on a whiteboard in his office, oh to be a fly on the wall in that room! There's a lot of cool surprises and secrets from the set that I don't want to spoil here so pick up the September issue and check it out!

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is set for release March 25th worldwide, 'Suicide Squad' is set to follow August 5th 2016, Gal Gadot gets her solo movie 'Wonder Woman' June 23rd 2017 before all the heroes get together for 'Justice League: Part One' which hits theatres November 17th. It's going to be a crazy awesome next few years so keep it locked at Cape and Cowl for everything Superhero!

New Details on Batman's History in 'Dawn of Justice' Revealed - Plus New Hi Res Images released

New Details on Batman's History in 'Dawn of Justice' Revealed

Plus New Hi Res Images released

By Alex Burns

The September issue of Empire has a fantastic feature on Warner Bros Pictures' 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. We reported on the epic cover and official stills earlier in the week but now the issue is out we've got some choice excerpts from the magazine plus newly released high res pictures from the movie. Empire had an all-access pass whilst on-set during filming for the superhero movie and interviewed director Zack Snyder and the main cast. Ben Affleck's comments reveal the history of this new movie iteration of Batman as well as addressing what appealed to him in order to take on the role.

“Initially I thought, ‘I’m older, it doesn’t seem like the right sort of fit for me,'” Ben Affleck explained. “Then Zack pitched me his concept for this older, more broken, kind of f*cked up Batman. It was something we haven’t seen. We have seen that Batman is willing to cross the line to protect people. That vigilantism has been a part of his character all along, and we are tapping into that mentality when faced by something as potentially as deadly a Superman.”

Since this Batman has been around the block it's more in keeping with the comic book dark knight that fans will feel familiar with, there's 75 years of history there and it looks like the movie will cherry pick the most iconic moments of that core history to create a new, fresh Batman on screen. Director Zack Snyder also addressed the age of Ben Affleck's Batman “We are playing him 45 or 46, he has been Batman for 20 years. All the history is there. Was there a Robin at one time? Possibly.”

We know now after the reveal of the Comic-Con trailer that Robin is indeed a part of this universe and looks to have been offed by the Joker after a Robin suit was seen hanging in the Batcave covered in graffiti courtesy of the clown prince of crime himself.

The Empire feature goes further into detailing the relationship Batman will have with the wider DC universe on film, specifically the Joker, Harley Quinn and the 'Suicide Squad' movie. Turns out that Batman is the reason Deadshot, Killer Croc and co are all imprisoned at the beginning of the movie in the first place! Batman will be appearing in Suicide Squad and some of his scenes are certain to be flashbacks to these captures, refresh your mind and check out the Suicide Squad trailer again!

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and is set for release March 25th 2016 with David Ayer's 'Suicide Squad' following on August 5th 2016.

New Spider-Man Movie will NOT be an Origins Story - Peter Parker already up and running in MCU

New Spider-Man movie will NOT be an Origins story

Peter Parker already up and running in MCU

By Alex Burns

Spider-Man screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein have spoken out about the upcoming Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland and set within the MCU and their comments are pretty encouraging. The movie looks set to skip the everyone-and-your-mum knows it back story and get straight to the action.

"The main difference I think is the tone will be really grounded, about a real kid who gets these powers and what that means to a geeky, outcast kid and how he deals with them," Goldenstein told USA Today. "You don't instantly become a superhero, it's a long journey." Daley added, "It's spending a lot more time in the high school. And so we have time to sort of develop the powers with him and experience the wish fulfilment. And also just the fact that it is really alienating to other people."

Since we've already seen two Spidey origin movies in 2001's 'Spider-Man and 2012's reboot 'The Amazing Spider-Man' it seems like a wise choice to mix things up with an already established hero. Daley also added that the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will show a Spider-Man who is familiar with his powers but needs practise , in a tongue in cheek comment he also confirmed Peter Parker won't get up to any face-palm antics like in the often mocked 'Spider-Man 3' "I don't think the origin story is going to be in there and also I think we’re going to avoid the emo dance ... as much love it," he said.

  We couldn't resist!

Goldstein also added that Tom Holland's Peter Parker will be a "self-conscious" kid, someone who is unpopular and of course a "little geeky.", he continued, "We want to sort of tell that story, and the fact that getting powers and becoming Spider-Man doesn't solve your problems."

"Because he has to keep it a secret from everyone, so it just makes everything worse for him." Daley added.

The 'Spider-Man' reboot is set for release July 28 2017 but Tom Holland will appear as old webhead first 'Captain America: Civil War' which hits theatres May 6 2016.

Check out Daley and Goldstein's full comments in the video below.

New 'Batman V Superman' Behind-The-Scenes Photos Revealed - Plus Additional Empire Cover

New 'Batman V Superman' Behind-The-Scenes Photos Revealed

On-Set Action Plus Additional Empire Cover

By Alex Burns

After the reveal of the 'Batman v Superman' Empire cover and new official stills earlier in the week, we've now got some brand new behind the scenes pictures courtesy of Comic Book Movie. The new images come from the feature Empire is running on the upcoming DC Comics movie in their September issue. They are scans but the quality is still decent, there's bound to be some high res images released so we'll keep an eye out for those as well. Check out the awesome snaps below.

This picture is my favourite of the bunch and reveals Batman's chest plate will be be able to withstand bullets, which is pretty sweet! I wonder if Ben Aflleck is giving director Zack Snyder tips on how to shoot the scene? The actor is heavily linked with not only starring in the next solo Batman film but also directing. Watch this space.

This new shot of Gal Gadot's Diana Prince shows off that Wonder Woman will be a woman of means and judging by her appearance in the trailer a bit of a mystery character. What are her motivations? What's her relationship to Bruce Wayne and how does she view Superman's impact on the world?

Here's an on-set shot of that moment from the Comic-Con trailer as Superman tears the roof off the Batmobile and Batman rises to meet him as cool as you like.

The rest of the images show Superman getting ready for battle against Batman in Gotham, a look at the Daily Planet as Amy Adams' Lois Lane works with Clark Kent on a case, investigating Batman perhaps? Finally, there's a shot of  Bruce Wayne with Jeremy Irons' Alfred in the derelict and decaying Wayne Manor, things might get emotional.

The secondary Empire cover shows off the men behind the costumes as Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent prepare to do battle, who's your pick to come out on top?

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is set for release March 25th 2016 and will be the start in a series of movies aimed at establishing a connected DC Cinematic Universe.

Chris Pine Officially Joins 'Wonder Woman' Movie Star Trek Actor Will Play Love Interest

Chris Pine Officially Joins 'Wonder Woman' Movie

Star Trek Actor Will Play Love Interest

By Alex Burns

After months of rumours that Chris Pine was set to join a DC Comics movie we now have confirmation that Captain Kirk himself will play the role of Steve Trevor in Warner Bros. Pictures upcoming 'Wonder Woman' movie! The film stars Gal Gadot (The Fast and the Furious) in the title role and will be directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster). Pine joins the movie after another torrent of rumours had him linked to play the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, in the 2018 'Green Lantern Corps' movie, now we can put all that speculation to rest as he is locked in for Steve Trevor in DC's cinematic universe.

If you're wondering just who exactly Steve Trevor is then we've got you covered as he's had a few different interpretations in the decades since his debut in 1942's 'All Star Comics' #8. This origin saw the character as a US soldier whose plane crash lands onto Wonder Woman's home turf of Paradise Island. The island is a females only deal and Steve's presence exposed the hidden civilisation to the world. There's been a few changes to the character along the way but he's always maintained a close relationship with Wonder Woman and they've often been involved romantically as well.

The launch of DC's New 52 saw Trevor as a liaise officer for the US government and the newly formed Justice League. It remains to be seen if Trevor will play out that role in the upcoming 'Justice League' movies the Wonder Woman movie is set to to take place across decades as 'Wonder Woman' is introduced to a male dominated world.

Gadot will first star in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' in March 2016 before Pine joins her in the 'Wonder Woman' solo movie in June 2017. Gadot will definitely be back for Justice League: Part One' in November 2017 Pine may appear in that movie as well. Check out a cool clip of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor's relationship from 2009 Wonder Woman DC Animated movie.

Things are Starting to Get Iconic

By Alex Burns

After the reveal of the latest issue of Empire featuring Batman and Superman we now have a few brand new images as well! The three pictures come from Empire's all access feature which runs in their September issue so make sure you pick it up.

We get another look at Ben Affleck as Batman in the armoured battle suit, the Bat signal is burning bright and it's a pretty epic shot. We also get an image of Henry Cavill soaked to the skin in the ruins of Wayne Manor, we know Clark Kent is investigating Batman in the movie, will he also discover Bruce Wayne is the man behind the mask? Finally, there's a great shot of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in a LexCorp facility, looks to be a basket ball court and may very well be the same building that gets attacked in the comic-con trailer for the film. Lex is also looking more modern whizz kid billionaire than maniacal corrupt CEO and after Eisenberg's performance in the movie trailer we can't wait to see more of this new version of the classic character. Check out the full images below!

For more on what to expect in 'Batman v Superman' check out our trailer analysis here. Warner Bros.Pictures' 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is directed by Zack Snyder and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, the film is set for release March 25th 2016.

Spidey is Going Back to School in New Comic Series - Marvel Makes Official Announcement

Spidey is Going Back to School in New Comic Series

Marvel Makes Official Announcement

By Alex Burns

Marvel has announced a brand new Spider-man series that will launch as part of the All-New, All-Different Marvel Universe. The Series, simply titled 'Spidey' features the writing talent of Robbie Thompson, who's notable for his work on the successful TV Show 'Supernatural, taking care of the artwork is the super talented Nick Bradshaw who  will be familiar to comic book readers for his runs on 'Wolverine and the X-men' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. The series will be a back to basics look at what makes Spider-Man appeal to readers in the first place, the official synopsis reads:

Today, he’s the world’s greatest super hero. But long before he swung from rooftops as the Amazing Spider-Man, he was just a spider-powered teenager who knew that “with great power must also come great responsibility.”

The new series will focus on Peter Parker's time at High School and act as a celebration of all the iconic Spider-Man origin tropes back to school for a classic and iconic take on the Spider-Man mythology. The supporting cast for 'Spidey' will be a mixture familiar faces and brand new characters who will either help or hinder our Parker as he balances a double life as a high school student and a career as the new hero on the streets of New York, Spider-Man!

“Everyone remembers their FIRST Spider-Man comic,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “’Spidey’ aims to be perfect as someone’s first Spider-Man comic, or their one thousandth. We’re not looking to re-tell stories here. What Robbie [Thompson] and Nick [Bradshaw] have put together is an exciting new take on Spider-Man at his arguably most iconic incarnation, and will feel fresh to new and old fans alike.”

“Out of the 700+ issues of ‘Amazing Spider-Man’” shares “Spider-Man” Editor Nick Lowe, “Peter Parker was only in high school for thirty issues! Stan and Steve covered a lot, but there’s a lot of the high school and early super hero experience still on the table.”

This series certainly doesn't have a been-there-done-that feel about it and looks to be one of the more unique books coming out of the new Marvel Universe we'll be sure to share our thoughts on the new series when “Spidey” #1 comes to comic shops later this year.

Check them out below.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Hugh Jackman Reveals Wolverine Teaser Image - One Last Time...

Hugh Jackman Reveals Wolverine Teaser Image

One Last Time...

By Steven Carter

Hey Wolverine fans! A teaser picture has been released ahead of the upcoming Wolverine movie! The pic reveals Hugh Jackman looking as veiny and as badass as ever, flipping us the claw. Clearly he’s pissed about something but then again, do you really want to watch a serene Logan in what has been announced as Jackman’s final appearance as the hairy Canadian? Check it out below.

What's interesting about this picture is the fact the claw on show is most definitely metal, so somewhere along the line, Logan has undergone the procedure to bond Adamantium to his bones again. Presumably, after the events of 'Days of Future Past Wolverine's backstory is reset which means we can all forget about the awful, awful, AWFUL 'Origins' movie and the just-as-bad “The Wolverine”. The picture, also seen with the hashtag #ONELASTTIME was revealed by Hugh Jackman through social media. He also asked what the fans wanted to see in the final film and promised to read as many as possible.

“My last time putting on the claws,” Jackman reiterates in his post. “What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I’ll read as many as I can.”

Whether this will actually have an influence on the making of the film will remain to be seen, but it’s nice to know that Hugh is thinking of the fans. My personal hope is that Fox don’t bugger this one up as well! They’ve had a good run so far with the recent X-Men films so lets hope they don't spoil it! Fans were given a clue as to what storyline the movie will be based on when Jackman appeared at San Diego Comic Con and said three words: “Old Man Logan”. To the casual observer, this may not mean much, but to fans of the comic books, they will recognise the hugely popular series written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steve McNiven. We can’t expect a close adaption of the comic as the story features a heavy presence of other characters in the Marvel universe that Fox don't possess the rights to.

The third Wolverine film is set for release on March 3rd 2017. A difficult year to follow considering the crazy amount of exciting films expected to come out in 2016 including 'X-Men: Apocalypse' and 'Deadpool'!

Cool 'Batman v Superman' Empire Cover Revealed - "Red vs Blue"

Cool 'Batman v Superman' Empire Cover Revealed

"Red vs Blue"

By Alex Burns

The latest issue of Empire magazine features a preview of Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming movie, 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and the editorial has an excellent new image of the two heroes on the cover. Empire is a quality magazine so I can't wait to get stuck into this article, they will have all-access coverage from the shooting of the movie as well as interviews with the main cast and director Zack Snyder, you won't want to miss this, take a closer look at the cover below.

It's an opposites collide deal with this image, torn down the middle, our heroes are two sides of the same coin and Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne has a serious problem with Henry Cavill's Superman after the destructive finale of 'Man of Steel'. Note the gloomy backdrop of Gotham City behind Batman and the brighter Metropolis skyline behind Superman. Batman is also flexing a seriously imposing figure and not exactly sharing the space 50/50 with Superman! What do you guys think? Excited yet? For more on what to expect in 'Batman v Superman' check out our analysis of the Comic-Con trailer here.

C&C Feature - Top Batman Gadgets - Check Out the Coolest Items from the Dark Knight's Arsenal

C&C Feature - The Most Awesome Batman Gadgets

Check Out the Coolest Items from the Dark Knight's Arsenal

By Alex Burns

When Bruce Wayne vowed to avenge his parents senseless murder he committed himself to a war on crime that would encompass his entire being. He dedicated his life to making sure he was the peak human specimen both physically and mentally but there's only so much that a strong body and determined will can do alone. Thankfully Wayne also had access to his family fortune and utilised this wealth to create an arsenal of highly advanced tech and sophisticated gadgetry to aid in his battle against evil. Join us as we take a look through the history of everyones favourite caped crusader and pick out the best and most iconic bat-gadgets out there!

The Batarang

Lets start off with a classic, the batarang is a trademark staple of Batman lore and it's been beating criminals upside the head for decades! You can't beat literally throwing things at the forces of evil and it's proved super effective for Batman as a tool for incapacitating and disarming enemies as well as helping Batman make that near impossible shot that always saves Gotham City from certain doom. There's been plenty of neat additions to the batarang in the comics, including a remote control version for tackling a large number of enemies, explosive batarangs for taking down super powered foes and an electrified batarang for short circuiting those just about to blow bombs! Plus they are shaped like bats, awesome!

The Bat Cape

Next up is the ever in style bat cape, depending on which version of the character you buy into the the bat cape can accomplish a number of neat tricks first off though it's shaped like giant bat wings and primarily it's used to strike fear into evil-doers and finishes of the Batman look perfectly. The cape can take a rigid shape which enables Batman to traverse large distances and glide across rooftops it also helps to keep him hidden when lurking in the shadows. In the comics and movies we've seen it can also offer protection against knifes and lethal substances as well as fire. Forget the no capes rule, only a bad superhero blames his tools!

The Bat Cowl

So we've done the cape, now onto the cowl (hmm maybe we should have gone cape and then cowl?) ! The bat cowl is a serious piece of kit and doesn't just protect Bruce Wayne's secret identity it keeps his cranium safe from all kinds of pain! Naturally being a crime fighter comes with risks and a lot of nasty objects get thrown the way of Batman's skull and aside from bullets this cowl should withstand them all. The cowl also offers some pretty advanced tech hidden behind the grim expression. A built in comms-unit keeps Batman in touch with his allies and police reports, there's also adjustable vision support as well that includes infrared and night vision. Some instances have also shown the cowl electrify criminals who try to remove it.

The Grapnel Gun

The grapnel gun is an invaluable tool in Batman's utility belt. Granting the dark knight the ability to ascend great heights in mere seconds the grapnel gun has helped Batman appear as more than just a man to his foes as he dispatches justice across Gotham City. Incredibly lightweight and sturdy the grapnel line can support Batman's weight and then some, it can also be used as a non-lethal weapon, disarming goons and latching onto them to pull them in close so Batman can knock them into next week. The grapnel gun combines with the bat cape to allow Batman to traverse Gotham City quickly and quietly making it perfect for Batman's nightly patrols.

Ultrasonic Bat Summoner

This ultrasonic bat summoner is as close to a superpower as you can get within the realms of bat gadgets. The ultrasonic device alerts all the bats chilling in the batcave to aid Batman when he's in serious trouble. The concealed device was seen in Batman: Year One and then used again in Batman Begins and showed off the destructive force of hundreds of bats all converging onto one location at the same time, they cause some serious disruption and since Batman spends a lot of time with these guys he's more than happy to run straight through as his enemies flap around in fear. It's not quite Aquaman level, talking to dolphins and stuff, but it's pretty darn close!

The Bat Suit

The bat suit itself is a highly sophisticated piece of clothing that does way more than just look cool. The suit is lightweight but seriously durable and protects against blunt trauma, knife wounds and glancing bullet shots, it'll take a straight gunshot to cause any damage to the wearer. The suit also regulates temperature and can either cool or heat the body depending on the environment, the suit also has built in sensors that pick up on exertion levels and heart rate so Batman can monitor his physical condition when in battle. This is no onesie by the way, the suit is compromised of overlapping armour plating and a kevlar weave for a balance of maximum flexibility and protection. Batman has a variety of alternate suits for extreme cold or heat scenarios as well as specially designed suits for high altitude or underwater missions.

The Batmobile

The Batmobile is just about the coolest car in existence and whatever version of the car you prefer, you can't deny that there's something for everyone. The Batmobile has been seen as a super fast sports car, a classy gadget filled Bond type vehicle or a huge tank that flattens everything in front of it. The best versions find a balance between the three and combines a bat themed design with a real world sensibility. The Batmobile seats two with either a Robin or a damsel in distress usually in the passenger seat and is likely tuned into police radios rather than Gotham City radio. The Batmobile is designed using Wayne Industries tech and has a jet powered engine and comes with a number of tricks, like oil slick, bulletproof armour and tyres as well as non lethal ammunition for riot control. There's also voice activated locking and a remote control mode that allows Batman to call his ride to his location anywhere in Gotham.

Bat Sonar

Bat sonar is one of the most advanced and ethically challenging gadgets in Batman's arsenal. The device uses sonar imaging, like a bat, generated from mobile phone devices to allow Batman to create a visual blueprint of any location. The hi-tech device was used as an ultimate one shot in the Dark Knight in order to locate the Joker and end his unstoppable crime spree across Gotham. Batman's dangerous enough on his own but when he's got absolute situational awareness and a visual guide for where all of his enemies are, he can get the drop on them like never before. Using the bat sonar we see Batman take down two SWAT teams, a gang of Joker goons and rescue several hostages in mere minutes. Total surveillance comes at a cost as the citizens of Gotham's privacy is violated but the end justified the means in this case as the Joker was finally brought down. Batman never used the technology again fearing it to be too dangerous if ever misused.

The Bat Signal

The bat signal may not be the most advanced gadget on this list but it's one the most iconic. Given as a gift to the GCPD so they can contact Batman in times of need the bat signal casts a huge beam of light into the Gotham skyline creating a bat symbol that blankets the clouds above. Used primarily by Batman's friend and ally Commissioner Gordon the bat signal has become more than just a device for contacting the dark knight, the knowledge alone that Batman is out there on watch is a powerful tool for stopping crime throughout the city, criminals think twice before stealing or hurting someone because you never know who might show up to stop them...
