We finally got our hands on the Batman: Arkham Knight Collectors limited edition this week and after carefully unboxing this bad boy we've got our overall thoughts on the set to share with you.This Limited Edition set is an Amazon exclusive here in the UK and comes complete with a Steelbook case and copy of the game, an 80 page art book, an official Arkham Knight comic book, three DLC codes for additional skins and in-game missions, and a Batman memorial statue that hints at the games finale. So far, so awesome lets get inside and take a look at all these extras and see how they stack up.

The Limited Edition's packaging is suitably flashy, with all the fan fare of a big game launch, once you remove the outer sleeve you're greeted with this epic memorial plaque for the dark knight.

Open up the lid and slide out the contents nice and slowly, it's pretty snug in that box and items are stored in the sides of the polystyrene and could fall out if you're not careful. The first item to greet you is the beautiful steelbook case featuring Batman and his new Batmobile, inside you've got the game disc, DLC codes and instruction manual.

The steelbook is awesome and has a great shine to it and it's nice and sturdy, no flimsy seal that you can some times get with these cases, I did get an incorrect skin pack DLC in my edition though, I received the Batman: Year One skin, which is fantastic but i was left wondering where my New 52 costume set was. I dropped an email to Amazon and they sent me over a code for the correct set as advertised. If that happens to you just let them know, their response was nice and quick and you'll get an extra set for nothing.

Next up is the 80 page art book, this is a great coffee table book and is nicely finished off with some bat signal gloss on the cover and back. 

The interior is a selection of concept art and character design from the game and it's a thing of beauty, if you're at all interested in game design and the creative process that goes into these titles it's well worth a look through and at 80 pages you get your moneys worth. 

There's next to no text in the book save for a foreword by the game's director but hey it's a picture book at the end of the day. The other addition is the issue of 'Batman: Arkham Knight' #0 it's a great looking comic and offers a story set before the events of the game and is a fun read.

Finally we come to the big money item and the reason you've probably bought the edition in the first place, the Batman memorial statue. It's a fantastic collectible, I wasn't expecting it to be plastic which can often make things seem cheap but it's got such a good weight to it and the sculpt is so neat and tidy that it's hard not to be impressed. I also had no idea that the statue lights up! Batteries are included and when you get the Gotham skyline lit up the piece really comes to life. One awesome detail is that the button to switch the lights on is hidden underneath a removable building, that's right a secret button! It doesn't get much more Batman than that. 

Overall the collection is a success, I know Rocksteady and Warner bros had issues with the launch of this set which is why some (including mine) were delayed for so long. Obviously they hadn't figured it all out which is why the packaging advertised a code that I did not receive and had to request from Amazon to get. There's also the issue of the Batmobile edition that never saw the light of day due to the "compromised quality" of what was being sold. I'm relieved to say that none of those manufacturing issues have affected the statue edition and it's achieved a high level of quality and will make a great addition to any Batman collection.
