Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevigne and more On-Stage in San Diego

By Alex Burns

The entire Suicide Squad made an on stage appearance at San Diego Comic-Con and director David Ayer showed off the first trailer for the super villain team-up movie. Ayer also described the film as Bad vs Evil and claimed that DC has the best villains in comics. Will Smith then addressed the fans in in attendance at Hall H as the cast flew in straight from filming in Toronto.Smith thanked fans for their support and promised the movie will meet their expectations. The footage is seriously epic and shows off the all members of Task-Force X plus Jared Leto's Joker for the first time. We've got a description of the trailer below, we know there's a leaked version online but we won't be posting it here.

The trailer opens with a Dinner table. “I have the worst of the worst", a man tells Viola Davis' Amanda Waller. The DC Comics logo ticks into screen. Waller explains she's responsible for imprisoning the villains, she "put them in a hole and threw away the hole". The shared DC Universe begins as she mentions Superman.

Waller's voice over goes on as we see the members of the Suicide Squad for the first time“A task force of the most dangerous people on the planet who can do some good.” “We have built in deniability” because they're bad guys. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn hangs upside down in a cage. Will Smith's Deadshot beats a punching bag. Killer Croc enters the trailer strapped up tight on a gurney. Harley then asks, “Are you the devil?”

We see Deadshot rappel down the side of a building. A hospital gets shot up. Carl Delevigne Enchantress sits in a pool looking mean. Deadshot then refers to the team as some kind of Suicide Squad, we then see the full line-up out on the street. Helicopters fire. Harley holds her bat like a shotgun. The Jared Leto's Joker then walks down a hallway. Harley stakes down a guard strangling the poor chap out.

Then we see an epic shot of Ben Affleck's Batman atop the Joker’s car with Harley in the passenger seat clearly excited. Captain Boomerang talks about crazy people and then we get our first look at Jared Leto proper, it starts with the Joker’s laugh then the words “I’m not gonna kill ya!”

We cut back to the Suicide Squad then back to the Joker lording over a helpless victim, he goes on Joker “I’m just gonna hurt ya, really, really bad,” before flashing a menacing smile and a raging madness in his eyes, it's absolutely terrifying!

Warner bros have expressed disappointment at the leaked trailer getting out and haven't revealed when the footage will officially released to the public. 'Suicide Squad'  is set for release August 5th 2016 and will be the first DC Comic movie to follow 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice', we'll be sure to keep you updated on everything to do with Task-Force X so stay locked right here at Cape and Cowl.
