Matt Damon Talks New Bourne Movie

Matt Damon Talks New Bourne Movie

Do You Remember?

By Alex Burns

We cannot wait for the next instalment of the Bourne series and a new entry with Matt Damon returning is under seven months away! EW have released a new image from the movie and also got some information out of  Jason Bourne himself.

It looks as though the new Bourne movie will reflect the big world news we've seen unfold since 2007's 'The Bourne Ultimatum' and Matt Damon explained further to EW; "There's been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties," Paul Greengrass also returns to direct and tackle these new themes as the series returns to familiar territory after the Jeremy Renner starring 'Bourne Legacy' experiment didn't quite tick all the boxes.

Addressing how our hero fits in this new world, Damon offered this; "We find [Bourne] in a dark and tortured place". Hmm, pretty typical so far but after the events of those first three movies will Jason Bourne have another adventure left in that weary body? We saw him struggle more than ever in 'Ultimatum' so it's going to be a real thrill seeing an older Bourne take on a new, younger threat. Story details are at a premium and the movie doesn't even have an official title yet. We do know that Alicia Vikander will star, playing a cyberspecialist and that combined with Damon's comments could allude to a very different kind of espionage struggle in store for Bourne in this instalment.

The new Bourne movie is set for release July 29th, 2016.

'Deadpool' Empire Covers Revealed

The Merc' with a Mouth Made the Front Page!

By Alex Burns

Woah! The new Deadpool movie is under two months away, that has seriously crept up fast! We're looking forward to this unconventional superhero film and hope it lives up to all those lofty promises lead actor Ryan Reynolds has been dishing out! The Empire covers are here and as you can expect they are fantastic and you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for a comicbook cover, that's just how awesome and faithful that costume design is.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, 'Deadpool' tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

'Deadpool' is set for release February 12th 2016.

First 'Daredevil' Season 2 Photos Revealed

First 'Daredevil' Season 2 Photos Revealed

The Punisher Has Landed!

By Alex Burns

EW have revealed the first official photos for "Daredevil" Season 2 on Netflix and the first shows off Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil in a rather unfortunate situation with Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle aka The Punisher!

It's pretty fair to say these two vigilantes won't be getting along very well... The second image a little more lightherted with Murdoch shooting pool and getting close with the returning Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page.

UPDATE:
More epic pictures have been released check out the goods below!

EW also held an interview with new showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, Petire addressed the new introductions to the season, specifically The Punisher and Elodie Yung as the deadly assassin - Elektra.

“The advantage of any sequel is you can dive right in, we hit the ground running and then we ran as fast as we f—ing could. Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we’re also going to force people — the way we force Matt — to second-guess themselves. Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky s–t. We have not shied away from the rich complicated reality of Now. If you’ve got a gun and you’re not the police you’re going to incite strong feelings. We’re stirring the pot and we’re aware of the headlines where we live and we’re trying to get people to think.”

“Matt’s a deeply moral complicated guy and she’s just the best bad girlfriend you can possibly have, she does everything wrong and attractive, she’s his id, the wild side. Matt is always taming his wild side. Elektra just lets it out. He’s both repulsed and deeply drawn to that.”

'Daredevil' Season 2 also stars Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and is stream early 2016 exclusively on Netflix.

“I hadn’t played it before these guys approached me,” Fassbender says. “I’ve played it since mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character. We’re striving to find something special. We believe the whole concept around it is special and want to service that the best we can. The fans are really passionate: very specific and they expect accuracy and historical detail. We’re really trying to capitalize and feed on and enjoy the fun element. We’re working hard to make this something special.”

Konami Developing 'New Metal Gear' Game Without Kojima

Konami Developing 'New Metal Gear' Game Without Kojima

Will the Franchise be the Same?

By Alex Burns

Konami are seeking new developers to continue the Metal Gear franchise, the company listing specifies a search for a "wide range of highly-skilled development professionals" for a new Metal Gear title. This new instalment in the world renowned game franchise will be the first after the departure of creator Hideo Kojima and there will be a mixed response from fans as to where the future of the series lies without Kojima calling the shots.

Konami have gone this route before without Kojima as a partnership with platinum games yielded the frenetic action game 'Metal Gear Rising: Revangeance' a title that decidedly divides Metal Gear fans. Konami have expressed confidence in continuing the franchise without the having the creator involved it remains to be seen whether it will reach the same heights as the last entry in the series; 'The Phantom Pain'

Kojima and Konami fell out over creative differences and frustrations with deadlines in the lead-up to the release of 'Metal Gear Solid V'. The issues proved to be impossible to overcome for both parties as the two long term partners parted company.

All of this news comes in the wake of Hideo Kojima announcing he will be going solo with his own studio to develop a Playstation exclusive title, call us biased but we may be a little more excited for that one...
