'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Dethrones the 'Jurassic World' Worldwide Opening Record

The Box office is strong with 'The Force Awakens' so strong in fact that the latest instalment in the 'Star Wars franchise has officially bested the all-time worldwide opening set by 'Jurassic World'. 'The Force Awakens' has reached a phenomenal $529 million globally since it's first day of release, 'Jurassic World' set the record earlier this year with $529 million. It's great to see two epic movies at the top of this illustrious list now let's just hope 'Star Wars' can do what 'Jurassic World' could not and dethrone 'Avatar' to become the highest grossing movie of all-time!
The domestic haul for 'The Force Awakens' also bested 'Jurassic World' with $247.9 million to $208.8 million respectively. The film also set numerous records across the globe, here in the UK the film opened as the highest of all-time as well, here's the totals for the movie everywhere else so far.
