Game-Changing 'Batman v Superman' Trailer Screenshots

Game-Changing 'Batman v Superman' Trailer Screenshots

Doomsday is Coming

By Alex Burns

After the epic new trailer debuted for 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' last night we have gathered up the best screenshots from the new footage and thought we'd share them with you guys! Let's drink it in and enjoy the moment because the new trailer is one epic looking comicbook cocktail. There's plenty of action as you'd expect, the budget for this film is reportedly over $250 million (not including marketing), but more surprisingly a whole lot more context for the film has been provided as well. Henry Cavill's Superman is given a much more prominent role and isn't being overshadowed by Ben Affleck's Batman which, understandably has been the case in the previous promotional materials. This equal split should benefit the movie long-term as you have to care about about both sides of the battle otherwise there's no emotional investment in the action no matter how great it looks. I think that was the aspect that was missing for mainstream audiences in the previous trailers. Additionally, we get more of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor who seems a unique fit to a familiar character but perhaps too much of his role and evil plans in the movie have been revealed as we now know Doomsday will be the villain to unite Batman, Superman and the more-awesome-by-the-day Wonder Woman played by Gal Gadot. DC and Warner Bros have been criticised for the darker tone of this movie compared to the Marvel cinematic universe, but take a look at this footage and tell me it doesn't look like a Jim Lee drawn Justice league comic and I will simply not believe you're being honest. Kudos to the creative team and director Zack Snyder, we know this film will look fantastic let's just hope the narrative and actor's performances deliver likewise. While we wait though, check out those beautiful screengrabs below!

We've been spoiled really and Warner Bros. have showed us a lot of what this film has to offer including some surprises I wish maybe they'd held back on. Obviously I'll still be reporting on the film and will bring you all the updates but as for me personally watching any of it, I'm going to give that a miss. I want to be surprised when I see this film for the first time, we won't get another first time DC team up movie experience like this and I have got to go into the cinema screen cold turkey!

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Directed by Zack Snyder 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. The film is set for release on March 25th 2016.
