Stephen Amell Talks, Will There Be an Arrow/Constantine Crossover?

Stephen Amell Talks, Will There Be an Arrow/Constantine Crossover?

Cancelled NBC Show is Still Looking to Continue

Following the news that NBC have officially cancelled "Constatine" the Internet has gone into #saveconstantine overload in attempts to drum up support for the show to continue. Numerous Celebrities have pitched in with their thoughts and Stephen Amell has been a stand-out. The star of "Arrow" has a huge social media following and is pretty tight with a variety of producers across the DC Entertainment sector, he spoke out recently at the Wizard World Convention in Philadelphia about how he has been in talks to crossover with Matt's Ryan's Constantine character:

"There is an opportunity for interconnectivity with any DC television show that exists. Like, as an example, yesterday Constantine was cancelled. I know, it’s brutal… It’s a good show, and it should come back. And it may come back, like there are various platforms where it could come back. Constantine is an NBC show, I’m on the CW. I had discussions with DC Comics -- not NBC or the CW -- DC Entertainment about guest starring on Constantine when it was on the air. That was and is on the table."

"The reason that I was going to guest star on Constantine, at least the idea that we were throwing around, was [Constantine's] an expert when it comes to the Lazarus Pit, which is now something that is a part of, and will continue to be a part of, Arrow.”

Amell uses his fame in Arrow to support charities like F*ck Cancer
DC Entertainment is doing a great job with the majority of the Comic book properties on Television especially when it comes to crossovers between shows. There has been a limit to the crossover potential so far however, one constraint is that the shows have to be on the same network Arrow and The Flash are connecting all over the place at the moment so it helps to watch both shows concurrently. there's also another spin-off show adding to the mix, DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Constaintine currently has no network and the principal cast are all still under contract so that could make an appearance by Matt Ryan on a CW show more straight forward. DC also has CBS's Supergirl which has begun filming, and TNT's Titans, currently in pre-production, Amell also addressed the future crossover potential of these shows:

"We have Flash, we have Legends of Tomorrow, a new show which is directly connected to the Arrow universe, we have Supergirl, directed by my good friend Glen Winter. That pilot, I can’t wait to see it, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing. There’s Gotham obviously, and I’m missing something… Titans, there you go. So again, I wouldn’t worry too much about the movie universe, because we have no shortage of options for me and other characters to populate.

If Constantine can't find a new home would you be up for the character continuing through appearances in the wider DC Universe on TV?
