Geroge Clooney Thought He'd Destroyed Batman
Plus a Funny story about Joel Schummacher
By Alex Burns
George Clooney is doing the rounds promoting his new flick "Tomorrowland", during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show Clooney was asked about his time in the Batsuit, and his response was hilarious. We already know Clooney is "very sorry" for his role in the 1997 film "Batman & Robin", the superhero film is often credited for killing the 90's Batman Franchise and regarded as one of the worst films of all time. Thanks to the recent Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy we can now all laugh at "Batman & Robin" (trust me it's best watched as a comedy!) but at the time the critical and commercial failure was a pretty big deal and certainly tarnished the comic book hero's popularity. Clooney's comments are tongue-in-cheek and very refreshing, he even spills a few details as to what it was like shooting the film with then director, Joel Schumacher's. Check out the video below for yourself, the Bat-talk starts around the 01:38 mark. If you want to remind yourself of Clooney's performance as Bruce Wayne be sure to check out our look back at the actor's performance, plus where he ranks amongst other on-screen Batmen.
