'X-Men: Apocalypse' Official Synopsis Revealed - Young Heroes Battle Against an Immortal God

X-Men: Apocalypse Official Synopsis Revealed

Young Heroes Battle Against an Immortal God

By Steven Carter

Hey mutant fans, good news! Fox Studios have now released the official synopsis for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie! Lets take a look:

“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

So what do you think? The big reveal in this to me is the role of Mystique, or Raven as she’s once again referred as. Has she completely renounced her murderous tendencies? Or are they just subdued, only to manifest themselves later in the film? We may yet see Magneto become onslaught, given his “disheartened” state of mind. It does seem to be staying rather close to the source material except there won't be Wolverine showing up as one of Ivan Ooze’s – I mean – Apocalypse’s horsemen. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing all of the young X-Men, even Jubilee which will bring back fond memories of the ‘90’s cartoon series!
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is set for release May 27th 2016, make sure to stay tuned for more mutant related reveals!
