Matt Damon Talks New Bourne Movie
Do You Remember?
By Alex Burns
We cannot wait for the next instalment of the Bourne series and a new entry with Matt Damon returning is under seven months away! EW have released a new image from the movie and also got some information out of Jason Bourne himself.
It looks as though the new Bourne movie will reflect the big world news we've seen unfold since 2007's 'The Bourne Ultimatum' and Matt Damon explained further to EW; "There's been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties," Paul Greengrass also returns to direct and tackle these new themes as the series returns to familiar territory after the Jeremy Renner starring 'Bourne Legacy' experiment didn't quite tick all the boxes.
Addressing how our hero fits in this new world, Damon offered this; "We find [Bourne] in a dark and tortured place". Hmm, pretty typical so far but after the events of those first three movies will Jason Bourne have another adventure left in that weary body? We saw him struggle more than ever in 'Ultimatum' so it's going to be a real thrill seeing an older Bourne take on a new, younger threat. Story details are at a premium and the movie doesn't even have an official title yet. We do know that Alicia Vikander will star, playing a cyberspecialist and that combined with Damon's comments could allude to a very different kind of espionage struggle in store for Bourne in this instalment.
The new Bourne movie is set for release July 29th, 2016.
