Meet C2-B5 the latest addition to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!
Lucasfilm revealed C2-B5 along with some information as well. C2 is an Imperial astromech — a similar model to R2-D2, for those who aen't savvy with their Star Wars droid classifications. As part of his service to the Empire, he is subjected to frequent memory wipes. Unlike the astromechs used by the rebel forces, which are given relative autonomy by the humans they serve, the Imperial droids are apparently subject to the whims of the Imperial agents they serve.
It will be interesting to see how this new droid features in Rogue One and if there will be any buddying up with Alan Tudyk's K-2SO "Kaytoo" Imperial droid.
Rogue One is set for release December 16th 2016.
