The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Announced

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Manga Announced

Akira Himekawa Return to Hyrule

By Alex Burns

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is hands down one of the best adventures in Hyrule I've ever played and with the HD remake of the Gamecube classic coming to WiiU in March this is the perfect time for a Manga adaptation to come along. Twilight Princess will be adapted into a manga beginning next week in Japan,  the serialization will be available exclusively on publisher Shogakukan’s MangaOne app beginning February 8th.

The creative duo operate under the joint pseudonym Akira Himekawa and will tackle the mammoth task of realising this epic game world into the new manga. Himekawa is no stranger to the iconic  Nintendo series having adapted other games in the franchise including Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords, The Minish Cap, and A Link to the Past, as well as a real classy prequel to Skyward Sword.

Twilight Princess will be the first new Legend of Zelda manga published in eight years.
There is concern for us western readers as there's been absolutley no mention of an English language release but hey if you're reading this Nintendo, take my money!

I'd love to see the complex relationship between Link and Midna explored further in the Manga and will keep you up to date with any developments in terms of a western release. For now we'll just have to enjoy Twilight Princess again when the HD release rocks up on March 4th.
