Nostalgia Trip! X-Men '92 Returns as Ongoing Series in 2016
What's Next for Xavier's Students After Battleworld?
By Alex Burns
During Marvel's Secret Wars there were some epic tie-in miniseries and one of the most well received was X-Men '92 a return to the fan-favourite cartoon that became an introduction for many people (myself included) to the wonders of the X-Men universe. The minseries was awesome and today Marvel have announced that not only is X-Men 92 coming back but it's going to be an ongoing series! Expect the title to launch in Spring 2016 and creative team Chris Sims and Chad Bowers are continuing to write the series as well as interior Alti Firmansyah and cover artist David Nakayama.
The title will pick up after the events of Battleworld with the X-Men travelling back to their own universe and getting Xavier's School back up and running. Expect new students at the school as Cassandra Nova's pupils will be enrolling. Check out the first issue cover below and see if you can spot some familiar faces! Several popular X-Men villains charge into battle against Wolverine and co. including Omega Red, Exodus, Mystique, the mighty Apocalypse and more! This is bound to excite anyone who used to watch the show on FOx Kids back in the day and we'll make sure to bring you more as we have it, so keep it locked at Cape and Cowl.
