Incredibles 2 Updates & Edna Mode Retrospective

No Capes!

Disney offered updates on the highly-anticipated Incredibles 2 at D3 2017 plus a cool retrospective video for everyone's favourite superhero costume designer, Edna Mode, (though we are fans of capes here at Cape and Cowl!) check out the details below.

• Actors Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, and Samuel L. Jackson will all reprise their voices in the film replacing Spencer Fox as Dash (the actor is now 24) will be young actor Huck Milner.
• Writer/director Brad Bird detailed some plot aspects for the sequel and confirmed that the super-powered family will move into a more expanded universe with new allies and a new villain to shake things up.
• Holly Hunter’s Elastigirl will be at the forefront of this new story.
• “‘Incredibles 2’ is really a family film, it’s just that the family happens to have super powers, they may have super speed or super strength, but they experience the same problems as any family.” said Bird
• A sequence of Jack-Jack confronting a raccoon whom he mistakes for a burglar was shown at the Pixar demonstration and the baby superhero demonstrated even more powers following his confrontation with Syndrome at the end of the first film.

In celebration of her many achievements, the fashion world talks about how The Incredibles’ Edna Mode, a true visionary, has inspired them throughout the years, from her explosive jumpsuits to her divisive view of capes.

Released way back in 2004, The Incredibles was a critical and commercial success bringing in over $630 million at the worldwide box office. 

Incredibles 2 is set to release in theatres on June 15, 2018.
