By Sam Burns
The CW announced today that their next animated series will be based on John Constantine! Confirmed at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, the new DC Comics & Vertigo animation will arrive on CW Seed in 2018.
The series will feature the voice of Matt Ryan, who starred as the title character in the live-action NBC series, which aired for one season. The first season will consist of five to six 10-minute episodes.
Greg Berlanti will executive produce the series and will be joined by writer David S. Goyer, who executive produced the original NBC series, as well as Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.
This is not the first time Matt Ryan's Constantine has returned from the realms of cancelled network television - he also made an appearance in season 4 of Arrow and is regularly referenced throughout the CW DC universe.
Stay tuned for more updates soon!
