Aquaman Film Pushed Back to October 2018

Just Waiting for a Swim

Warner Bros have revealed that the release date for director James Wan's solo Aquaman film has been moved to October 5th 2018.

Originally slated for release in July 27th 2018, fans and audiences will now have to wait three more months before they can see Jason Momoa in action as the King of Atlantis. Still you can catch Aquaman make his first proper appearance in a next year's Justice League film after his cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film will likely flesh out the the underwater hero and his origins with a struggle between Atlanteans and Humans expected to put his powers to the test. Amber Heard also stars as Princess Mera with her costume revealed earlier this year.


Cue the internet speculation as to which DC superhero film will now occuply the July release window, the hot theory will be that Ben Affleck's increasingly mysterious Batman solo film will release in the summer of 2018. Time will tell, but it's worth remembering that Warner Bros has enjoyed great success with their last two solo Batman films - The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises - with mid-July release slots, those two films amassed over two billion dollars between them.
