Confirmed! Joe Manganiello is Deathstroke in Batman Solo Film

The rumours are true! After Ben Affleck revealed that sweet tease of Deathstroke footage on his Twitter account the comic book world has been rife with buzz about who would be behind the master assassin's mask. We can now confirm that Joe Manganiello will portray Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke in the upcoming solo Batman film!

The news comes via an interview the Wall Street Journal had with DC Entertainment's chief creative officer and comicbook guru Geoff Johns. Johns confirmed Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike) for the role of Deathstroke and that he will appear in the solo Batman film directed by Ben Affleck, Johns is also co-writing the script on that one.

Johns wouldn't be drawn on whether Deathstroke will appear in Justice League which is currently shooting here in the UK but for now we can look forward to an almighty throw down between two of the meanest and most badass characters in the DC Comic Library as The Dark Knight takes on the Master Assassin!

We have no confirmed release date for the Batman solo film at this point but the earliest the movie could hit theatres is 2018, well keep you posted. Ben Affleck will next appear as Batman in Zack Snyder's Justice League on November 17th 2017.

"Indefinite Hold" No More!

Rejoice Bat-fans! Batman: Return to Arkham now has a confirmed release date of October 18th 2016. The remaster of Rocksteady Studios original Arkham games was put on hold after the first reveal earlier this year. Negative reactions to the "updated" graphics appeared to have some actual weight behind them as Rocksteady removed the collection from their upcoming releases. Whatever issues there may have been now look to have been resolved as Batman will be back in the mad house later this year! Check out the new graphics comparison trailer below.

Watch this side-by-side comparison video to see how Batman: Return to Arkham is bringing two of the all-time greatest superhero games out of the shadows as one remastered bundle including all previously released DLC for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 18.

Polygon got a chance to get hands on with the new entry into the Sonic franchise and it's absolutely incredible to watch. Sit back and enjoy a "leisurely, exploratory, completely uncut and commentary-free stroll through the demo's Green Hill Zone and Studiopolis Zone.


Sonic Mania brings fans back into the 2D world of platform games with nostalgic pixel-style art and core classic gameplay by reimagining iconic Zones and Acts from Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. Before you get too lost in nostalgia of the 1990s, the game is also adding in completely new Zones with all-new Acts and bosses into the mix.

After a string of lackluster console efforts over the last couple of years, it will be great to see Sonic and company return to form. Fingers crossed SEGA and developers Headcannon and PagodaWest Games can deliver on the promising footage we've seen here.

The game is part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and returns to the 2D gameplay and visual style of the original Sega Genesis-era games. It is scheduled for release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in early 2017.

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have reavled the first story DLC for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided titled System Rift. We seriously enjoyed the new entry into the long running cyberpunk franchise and can't wait for even more espionage action in an augmented future!

In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – System Rift, you will re-unite with Frank Pritchard, Adam’s friend and former colleague at Sarif Industries, and assist him in hunting down information on the mysterious Santeau Group. Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created – the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the illuminati really are.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – System Rift will be out on September 23th on all platforms for £9.59 (Xbox One)/£9.49 (PlayStation 4 & PC). The DLC is included with the Season Pass, which was part of the Digital Deluxe Edition and can now be purchased separately for £29.99; the entire Season Pass content is also comprised of another story DLC, A Criminal Past, due to be available in early 2017.

The Season Pass content is as follows:

• Two new story DLC’s – “System Rift” and “A Criminal Past”.
• The “Assault” and “Tactical” packs, which include various weapons and items.
• 4 Praxis Kits.
• 5000 Credits.
• 1000 Weapon Parts.
• 5 Booster Packs and 20 Chipsets for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach.

The year is 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution and the "Aug Incident"—an event in which mechanically augmented humans became uncontrollable and lethally violent. Unbeknownst to the public, the affected augmented received implanted technology designed to control them by the shadowy Illuminati, which is abused by a rogue member of the group to discredit augmentations completely. The Illuminati successfully conceal the truth behind rumors and disinformation, while the augmented are now outcasts from normal humans in an era of "mechanical apartheid".

The player character is Adam Jensen, an augmented former private security officer now working with a special Interpol unit to capture a terrorist group of augmented humans. However, Jensen also secretly works for the Juggernaut Collective, a hacker group helping him to confront the Illuminati.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is available to purchase now at all good retailers.

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has shared this on-suit snap of him in his Spidey suit looking pretty freaking awesome in the back streets of New York. The shot wouldn't look out of place in a Batman film and it's great to see Spider-Man looking just as mythical and mysterious in the shadows.

Holland shared the photo to pay tribute to the stunt team working on the film and making making him look "badass". Absolutely badass and judging by this shot there's going to be plenty of iconic wall crawling moments to look forward to when the film release next year.

Having established a base on the planet of Atollon, the Ghost Crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, the Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any they have faced before. In season three, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.

Star Wars Rebels Season 3 will premiere on Disney XD this fall.

Telltale games have revealed that the second episode of their Batman videogame series will be available on September 20th! The next instalment in the first season is titled Children of Arkham and the official synopsis reads as below:

An old friend becomes a new adversary as Bruce learns more about the Wayne family legacy and Batman escalates the fight against crime and corruption throughout Gotham.

We can also confirm that retailers will start selling the series as a special Season Pass Disc. This will include the first five episodes of the season. It will also grant access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download. They will be in stores from the September 13 in North America and September 16 in Europe.

Meet C2-B5 the latest addition to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

Lucasfilm revealed C2-B5 along with some information as well. C2 is an Imperial astromech — a similar model to R2-D2, for those who aen't savvy with their Star Wars droid classifications. As part of his service to the Empire, he is subjected to frequent memory wipes. Unlike the astromechs used by the rebel forces, which are given relative autonomy by the humans they serve, the Imperial droids are apparently subject to the whims of the Imperial agents they serve.

It will be interesting to see how this new droid features in Rogue One and if there will be any buddying up with Alan Tudyk's K-2SO "Kaytoo" Imperial droid.


Rogue One is set for release December 16th 2016.
