Quicksilver Teases "Biggest X-Men Film" Yet in New Interview

'Days of Future' Past Stand-out Talks Taking Sides for the Apocalypse

By Alex Burns

Quicksilver himself Evan Peters has been speaking with Details regarding his role in the upcoming movie 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. Peter's gave an interesting answer which gives us some idea of how this new band of X-Men come together and also expands on the relationship Quicksilver has with Magneto.

“The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”

Comic book fans the world over all had a wry smile when 'Days of Future Past' subtly hinted at Magneto being Quicksilver's father, of course that's the way it is in the comics themselves and with Magneto set to become one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and act against the X-Men (potentially involuntarily) there might be some emotions running high should the truth come out. Peters' also banged the drum for this being the most epic X-Men movie yet and we really hope he's right!

“Absolutely. It’s the biggest X-Men film. It’s about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge,”

Quicksilver was a standout character in 'Days of Future Past and featured in our Greatest X-Men Moments list. When first revealed the character rode a wave of negative feedback due to his unique 70's disco clothing and silver mop top but fair play to the creative team and Evan Peters for staying true to their own vision, it worked out wonderfully.

Need more X-Men news? Well, yesterday Bryan Singer teased that an official trailer for the movie was coming soon and we also had the tease that Wolverine may yet appear in the movie as well! We'll have more developments as they come so keep it locked at Cape and Cowl for everything X-Men.

"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is set to conclude the recent trilogy of X-Men films starting with 'First Class' and 'Days of Future Past' and is set for release May 27th 2016.
