'X-Men: Apocalypse' Debut Trailer Revealed

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Debut Trailer Revealed

The End of the World Never Looked So Good

By Steven Carter

Hey mutie fans! Guess what's just landed online?! We finally get to see what Bryan Singer and company have been up too over the past year and by golly does it look exciting! We get to see glimpses of Apocalypse’s ancient past which conjures up memories of the post credits scene of Days of Future Past, quick shots of the new cast including Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Jubilee, Storm, Nightcrawler and my personal favourite, Archangel! There also appears to be another Quicksilver scene reminiscent of the one seen in the previous X-Men outing. Oscar Issacs, now looking a lot blue-er is heard monologging in a similar style to Ronan the Accusor in Guardians of the Galaxy. And what's that we spy at the end? Was that a bald Professor X? I believe it was! More intriguing was what he utters part of the way through with eerily widening pupils: “I’ve never felt power like this before…” Will we see a manifestation of the Psychotic Onslaught perhaps?! Who knows! I certainly can't wait for the second trailer let alone the movie itself!

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

X-Men: Apocalypse stars James McAvoy as Charles Xaver, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Lucas Till as Havok and newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s big bad; Apocalypse.
